Swensens Ice Cream Buffet Food Review !

The ice cream here were quite good but trust me, you would not be able to eat much as you get full very easily from sweet things!

Adam Food Centre Food Reviews

(Updated on Dec 2016)
I am a hawker foodie and I am so excited when I can finally drop by Adam Food Centre for dinner! My family and I ordered a spread of dishes and we always wait for all to be back on the table before eating. There is this cute auntie who asked if she could take a photo of our food before we tucked in! Was it because nobody would have a spread of dishes on their table at a Hawker Centre? Haha, then my family is quite cute isn't it? Perhaps she's a blogger as well? :P
Anyways, I have always strive to indulge in worthwhile and delicious food! My favorite is the Char Kway Teow with the red signboard and the Pork Ribs Prawn Noodle Soup!

Noo Cheng Sliced Pork Prawn Noodles - $5

I feel that there is nothing to rave about for its dry noodles dish. It was served with 2 bigger prawns with prawn heads intact and 2 small prawns as well as some pork slices in the soup. I think you can get better dry prawn noodles elsewhere. :)

Costa Victoria Cruise 2016 Review - Cruise Services

Here are some of the Cruise Services available and their photos!

Casino & Arcade:

There are quite a few tables at the Casino which are not opened as well due to limited guests. Children are allowed to roam freely around the Casino too since the Arcade and Casino are located on the same level.

Costa Victoria Cruise 2016 Review - Continental Breakfast in Cabin

We were supposed to enjoy in-room service for breakfast but they did not place any breakfast slip for us at all. We then called up Room Service to request for the slip and fortunately, they delivered the slip to us within 5 minutes. What's a Cruise trip without in-room breakfast right? I only ordered once though.

The spread were very limited except that they have Hot Chocolate, Apple Juice and Chocolate Cereals!
I was so excited about it but they only gave Chocolate Powder and Milk. You were supposed to boil the Milk first before putting the Chocolate Powder. How am I supposed to boil Milk with the moldy kettle? As such, I only poured the chocolate powder onto the milk.

Costa Victoria Cruise 2016 Review - Dining at La' Pizzeria Restaurant

Supper on-board Costa Victoria has the best food ever for its Pizza and Calzone! I think they used charcoal oven to bake their pizza and it comes out crisp and nice!

Costa Victoria Cruise 2016 Review - Dining at Bolero Restaurant

Basically the food variety are similar for dining at Ala-Carte or buffet-style restaurants.
Do note that the burger restaurant outside of Bolero Restaurant will be closed on rainy days and they serves burger and omelette eggs!

Costa Victoria Cruise 2016 Review - Dining at Sinfornia Restaurant

Here's my review of the dining at Sinfornia Restaurant! The food served at both Fantasia and Sinfornia are actually the same. You would be seated at the same table and restaurant as reflected on your dining card right from Day 2. As for my family, we were given separate tables and hence, my dad requested for us to sit together from Day 3 and they grant us the request!

Costa Victoria Cruise 2016 Review - Dining at Fantasia Restaurant

Our first dinner on-board was at Fantasia Restaurant and it will be free seating for the first day. As an overview to the quality of the food, it was really mass-produced and could not even be compared to Royal Carribean Mariner of the Seas.

Also, the food variety in Ala-Carte seatings and buffet seatings are all the same. Do expect longer serving times in Ala-Carte seating as we saw a couple stormed off angrily after waiting for too long.

Costa Victoria Cruise 2016 Review - Interior State Cabin

Similarly to what was mentioned in Costa Victoria Balcony Cabin Review - December 2016, rooms were cleaned twice a day and overall, I am quite satisfied with the room-keeping service.

Interior State:

There is a children's bed at the side and it could only be opened by cabin crew.

Costa Victoria Cruise 2016 Review - Balcony Cabin

I would like to give a two thumbs up for the staffs who make up the cabins at Costa Victoria! They clean your room twice a day; once every morning and once every evening after you get back from the 1st seating dinner. Cabin stay was quite comfortable but I am very disappointed that the tap water was brownish and the kettle was infested with molds which makes me go eewwwww (Refer to: Costa Victoria Cruise Review - Interior State Cabin

Costa Victoria Cruise 2016 Review - Embarkation and Disembarkation from Cruise to Malacca

We had high expectations of alighting at Malacca, and in particular my mum who wants to try all the good food there! However, to our disappointment, there is only one Shopping Centre nearby which is Plaza Merdeka. You need a taxi or a tuk tuk to get to Chinatown for all the goodies and good food!

Perhaps it is worthwhile to get down only if you need WIFI which are available at McDonalds, Starbucks, Nando's etc (which you can find in the map with the WIFI symbol below). The Nando's here is 3X cheaper than Singapore's but we were too full to eat anything :( Oh ya, there is a GIANT in the shopping centre too and we only got ice cream there at 40 cents per stick as there were not much things to buy though :X

Costa Victoria Cruise 2016 Review - Embarkation and Disembarkation onboard Costa Victoria

The embarkation and disembarkation procedure onboard Costa Victoria went pretty smoothly except that during embarkation, the staffs gave people who check-in their luggage an earlier timing to check in even when those without check-in luggage came at the same time.

Embarkation

Level 1 is for people who wish to check-in their luggage and Level 2 is for people who has no luggage check-in. Spoke briefly to the staffs and they said that the earliest timing to go onboard at Level 2 (without luggage check-in) is at 540PM unless you check-in your luggage.

Day 5 has activities such as 'Sapori D'Italia' Production Show as well as the 'Bye Bye Party'. I feel that the show was more to show you the Italian way of singing and dancing. Overall, good effort. There was also Shop Clearance going at 75% off and starting from $10 on selected products.

Costa Victoria Cruise 2016 Review - TODAY Daily Program Day 4

Day 4 would be the night most people would anticipate as there is the 'Michael Jackson Impersanator' show. The most I could remember from the show was 'Heal the World' where the audience shone their mobile flashlights and swayed along with the music. It was pretty touching!

There is also the 'Best Watch Gift Sets' going at 40USD for 2 sets which I find suitable as gifts or momentos for your cruise experience.

The activities for Day 2 were the 'Feel the Beat' show as well as the Captain's Cocktail.

There is also a crazy market sale in which watch brands such as G-Shock, Invicta, Fossil, Anne Klein, Skagen, Guess, Citizen and Stuhrling were going at 50% off if you purchase 2 watches that are not already on sale. You only get 35% off if you were to purchase just one. There are some watches that has huge discounts even before the 35% off as well.

Costa Victoria makes an effort to deliver TODAY Daily Program sheet to you everyday.
You may plan your activities on-board using this sheet as it comes with very comprehensive daily programs.
The activities for day 1 includes the Musical Video ABBA in concert as well as the Sail Away Party. However, my family and I were too curious to explore around the cruise and gave the activities a miss.

Costa Victoria Cruise 2016 Review - 17 Important Tips

Here are 17 important tips to enjoy your Costa Victoria Experience! I have grouped them into table form for easy reference!
No.
Important Tips
Remarks
Links
1
Bring a good sized water bottle.
There are no Mineral water bottles on-board and you would not want to boil your own water using the mouldy Kettle in your room.

Refill water bottles at Level 9 Gym Room (which has the best tasting icy water).

You may also refill at Level 11 Bolero Restaurant or Level 12 at La’ Pizzeria Restaurant. Do note to fill the water bottles with ice otherwise the water will taste weird.

In case you’re worried that you’ll be the only one bringing water bottles, not to worry as everyone does that!

I can’t stress how important was it to bring your water bottles with you!
2
Make sure your Cabin door is closed after you.
We had 2 instances where the Cabin door does not close after us. Make sure to check that it’s closed when you leave the room!

3
Do web check-in.
Make sure to print out your cruise tickets and put the luggage tags onto your luggage that you want to check-in to reduce administrative time!

You may like to check-in your luggage as those with luggage check-in were given an earlier timing to board the cruise as compared to those who came at the same time with no luggage check-in.

You can also choose your dining restaurant and the number of people dining at the same table during web check-in.
4
Download myCosta app on your mobile phones.
Do so only when you are on-board! I downloaded and registered before I boarded but I am unable to connect to the network at you.

Make sure you download the app when you are in Singapore and when you are on-board so that you can tap onto their WIFI network to contact your friends and families.

You are able to call your friends and families that you have added to your contacts, call Cabin numbers as well as the Excursion and Guest Services for special requests in your room.
5
Register your Credit Card with your Costa card before the cruise sail off.
Make sure to register your credit card within the first 24 hours of embarkation so that you do not have to queue up for payments on the last day.

Once they sailed off, there would be network problems and you would be unable to register your credit card in which the Guest Services are also unable to help you out.

You would receive your bill on the last day which is placed in your cabin.
6
Check in early to enjoy dinner onboard!
We reached at 4pm, an hour before the designated time or 5pm for check-in and was given a queue number of 15 which means we can check-in at 540pm.
7
Bring 2 Pin Electrical adaptor.
You are able to borrow an adaptor from the Guest Services for free in which they would waive off the 25USD charged to your account initially. Do note that you would need to return the adaptor by 11pm before you disembark in Singapore. As such, you would have a 16 hours window period that you are unable to charge your phone.

8
Make good use of TODAY Daily Program Sheet!
You can plan your days with TODAY Daily Program sheets! They do provide very comprehensive information that you require for embarkation, disembarkation as well as all the sales events!
9
Rent Board Games and Table Tennis Racquet for free.
You may rent them at the Library and Internet Point room!
10
Queue early for your Tender Boat tickets for early disembarkation.
Queue an hour or even 2 hours before the timing stated on TODAY Daily Program!

Phuket Trip: Supposed to queue at 945am but there was already a long queue at 9am!

Malacca Trip: Supposed to queue at 1pm but there was already a long queue at 12pm!
Refer to:
Phuket:
11
Bring sea-sick medicine if you have motion sickness for the tender boats.
The Tender Boats were especially shaky and suffocating from the Cruise to Malacca!

The Tender Boats from the Cruise to Phuket was quite alright!
12
Go ashore!
The activities on-board were too boring that I would advise you to go ashore!
13
Eat less for dinner and go for their Supper every night!
Their Supper has the best food throughout my whole trip on-board Costa Victoria!
Refer to:
14
Go for unlimited Servings of food (especially Chilli Crabs on Day 2) in Bolero Restaurant if you are too shy to order more during Ala-Carte Dining!
The food served in ala-carte seating and buffet-style are actually the same.

The only difference is that they serve Ice Cream in Ala-Carte Seating but not in Buffet-style seating.
Refer to:
15
You may like to tear out the slip of paper attached to TODAY Daily Program.
This is for easy reference to the activities of the day as well as their operating hours!
16
Drop off your luggage at the Luggage Deposit for free before you disembark back to Singapore!
You would not want to carry your luggage around during lunchtime! But make sure to collect them before disembarking time to minimize on the queuing time!
17
Compulsory Fire Drill.
Do assemble punctually at their specified timing. You would need to bring your Costa card and the life jacket which can be found in your Cabin room.

If you missed out on the fire drill, you would still need to attend another drill the next day.
