Pocket Maplestory - Luminous Build

Luminous Build Guide
Luminous is the 8th class to be released in Pocket Maplestory. He has a dark/light skill system where you will need to repeatedly switch between using dark and light skills in order to enter the ‘Equilibrium’ state for maximum DPS. Hence, you are unable to just spam a certain skill. Although Luminous is a Magician class, he is quite tanky and is able to withstand high damage due to his Standard Magic Guard skill whereby 85% of the damage taken will be absorbed by your Mana pool.

Leveling as Luminous is exceptionally fast by spamming Moonlight Spear when you are in ‘Eclipse’ state. You are able to kill multiple enemies (even if they are 20+ levels above you) in a wide area within a second using that skill. There are no cooldown and it consumes 0 MP in ‘Eclipse’ state. A trick to quickly enter the ‘Eclipse’ state is to go back to the character screen or to enter and exit a random dungeon. As I love to Auto-Combat, I added till my Dexterity hits 150 to allow my character to grind effortlessly without the need of any healing pets till level 140.

Just for Information:
‘Sunfire’ state: +50% Light Magic Damage, heals 1% HP per Light Magic Attack.
‘Eclipse’ state: +50% Dark Magic Damage, Dark Magic cost 0 MP!

A tip on fighting King Pepe easily as Luminous:

Kwong Cheong Thye (KCT) - THE place to go for mooncake making!

Mid Autumn Festival is coming soon and I am so excited as I will be making loads of mooncakes as gifts for friends and family! Wondering where to head for mooncake ingredients? KCT is the place!

Recently I tried out the Phoon Huat Snowskin Premix recipe which is much much better than the recipe I made a year ago! The snowskin were not sticky and neither were there visible clumps. However, I saw many recipes online using Taiwan KCT Premix and off I headed to KCT near Aljunied MRT to take a look! It was claimed that the Taiwan KCT Premix were much softer than Phoon Huat's and the softness lasts for days.

KCT's normal operating hours are from Mondays to Fridays 930am to 530pm. Do note some changes on their opening hours during  Mid Autumn Festival as follows:

I found out four recipes which I am intending to follow and post it pretty soon before coming to a conclusion on which recipe is better!

1st recipe:
KCT's Taiwan Pinpe Premix
2nd recipe: Phoon Huat's Snowskin Premix
3rd recipe: KCT's Fried Glutinous Flour
4th recipe: Phoon Huat's Fried Glutinous Flour

This post will be more on KCT's retail outlet as well as KCT's mooncake which I bought from Takashimaya for comparison with the mooncake I would be making using KCT's ingredients! It was a quick 3 minutes' walk from Aljunied MRT Station.

KCT Retail Outlet

KCT mooncake boxes - I bought the green colored ones.
They do have matching carriers which costs $1.40 each which I feel is a tad too expensive.

KCT Mooncake Fillings- Sampling
- you may click on the image to see the pricing.
Oh yes, there were soo many fillings that you are spoilt for choice! I bought the red wine cranberry, honeydew as well as lotus fillings. They have a lot of varieties such as chocolate, portuguese custard, passionfruit, mango, cendol, kiwi, low sugar american cranberry, blueberry, white coffee, red bean and many more! All available for sampling!
Word of caution though: you have to pinch the paste yourself and would be good to bring along dry and wet tissue as those paste are pretty oily. Good hygiene to wipe the corners of the samples first before sampling.

KCT Mooncake Recipes

How's the snowskin mooncakes I made recently? - Will upload the recipes for the four recipes soon! Pardon me for the dull colours as I made them after midnight and the lightings wasn't that great.

These are the mooncakes I bought from Takashimaya from KCT:
Honeydew Snowskin Mooncake

Red Wine Cranberry Snowskin Mooncake

White Lotus Snowskin Mooncake

KCT's Snowskin Mooncakes were no doubt very soft that it even melts in your mouth. Can you see some crack lines on the mooncakes? I think they were either too soft or the person who made it did not put much effort into making. I was so worried that my own snowskin mooncake would not be as nice but upon seeing the crack lines, I am so confident that I can make better ones! :P

I also feel that eating too much of it at one go will make you feel very sick of it as you are essentially eating only the paste and a little of the fillings since the snowskin are very soft and thin. Hopefully the mini snowskin mooncake that I will be making using KCT's ingredients will be better since there is a higher snowskin to fillings ratio than big ones.

Stay tuned for my recipes!

IKEA Crayfish Party 19 August 2016 Food Review

I was so excited about my first Ikea Crayfish Party with party hats and meatballs! It costs only $25 per person with early bird discount and they do give $10 Voucher with minimum spend of $50 at their home furnishing section. So that works out to be about $15 per person? I was so excited about their crayfish and meatballs, but sadly, my excitement turns into disappointment.

There were no sight of Ikea Chicken Wings and neither do they have curry puffs for the buffet party. However, they do have fried mid wings that tasted quite okay. My verdict? I prefer the buffet at Grand Park City Hall instead as their crayfish are bigger, fresher and you can simply taste the ocean taste in the crayfish. I stopped at two crayfish at Ikea Crayfish Party as you have to literally take out the shell and you can even see those black slimy parts of the crayfish which weren't really appetizing to me. Then again, that may be just me as I still see lots of people piling up plates and plates of crayfish.

The people there were more rowdy and rude as they cut queues to get the buffet items on their plates. You will get what I mean when you see how the cakes turned out after people had taken their share. Will I go back again? Certainly no.

House of Seafood Ala Carte Food Review at Upper Serangoon Shopping Centre

I was quite reluctant to go back to House of Seafood after my 2nd Visit. As a saying goes: Once bitten, Twice shy. However, I bought 2 Vouchers and had to go back to use the voucher no matter what. We went at a later timing this time round at about 730pm compared to 530pm the other time.

To my surprise, the food standard returned! I was so happy and relieved. I would change my rating from 3 to 4 from my previous post. The home made prawn rolls and Shrimp Paste chicken were my favorites! However, the home made braised pork bun seemed to have more sauce than the previous post and is less soft and thus, not as 'WOW' as the previous 2 times. I thought that we should order the clear tom yum soup as there were not much gravy to go with the rice. However, I feel that I would not order Tom Yum again as there were not much ingredients in there.

Home made braised Pork Bun

Home made prawn rolls

Kang Kong Vegetables

Crispy Chicken with Shrimp Paste

Beancurd on Sizzling Hot Plate

Stir-fried lala with Sambal

Lychee Sweet and Sour Pork

Clear Tom Yum Seafood Soup

You can order all the above for just $200 net and with Groupon Voucher, it is just $99 for $200 worth of food!

I went on another visit and ordered Thai Style Fragrant Chicken instead of Tom Yum Soup and it tasted delicious!

Grand Park City Hall Asian BBQ Fun Food Review

It had been pretty long since we head over to Grand Park City Hall for their Bistro Buffet since they were undergoing renovation.

The dining area became smaller but the food quality was still pretty good! I had never liked the BBQ as some were still uncooked on the previous times we went. It was well cooked this time around but it seemed that the taste of charcoal was more distinct than the taste of the seafood.

As such, my advise is that you could try the BBQ section and see if you like it. But do not order a lot at one go as you might end up regretting it. OH and i forgot to take photos of the Durian Penyet and the Ice cream! They were all very good!
