Linear Quest Guide - Leveling Builds

Linear Quest Guide - Leveling Builds
(Updated on 23rd April 2017)
The developers for Linear Quest have finally released the final version of their game! They have included PVP, dungeons, and new skills/equipment! For more information on how to unlock skills, do see my previous post:
Linear Quest Guide - Info & Skill Unlockables

For more information on how to get end game equipment, do see my new post!

Starting Character Build:
Best way to start a character is to add Strength and Dexterity (2 Strength: 1 Dexterity) so that your normal and skill attacks do not miss (You can reset your stats and skills using free Gems later). You can add less Dexterity if you have the Improved Aim skill. This character build will allow you to level very quickly from level 20-80. I usually alternate between 2 maps while spamming my 1-hit-kill-all "Piercing Blow". It is very effective especially for new characters:

Leveling Character Builds:
1. Level 20-90 build – No class (Dual Swords). This build is effective for new characters as Piercing Blow does 550% damage, have low casting time, consume little MP and is able to hit every monster on the map. Unlike other classes, this build do not require players to focus on non-DPS stats in the beginning (for instance, Priest require Dexterity and Trickster requires Agility to work well). Adding Strength early improves Piercing Blow damage, allowing us to kill most monsters with 1-2 hits. It is recommended to switch to late game builds once you hit around level 90+.

This is my character (Linear Quest Beta) at level 100, I have used my extra skill points to learn additional buffs such as HP Regen and MP Regen to help me during boss fights:

2. Level 131 (Fun AFK) build – Auto-attack Trickster (Dual Fist of Fortune). High Agility makes monsters unable to hit you and greatly increases your attack speed. High Luck boost your critical rate and increases drop rate of items. You only need 140 Luck (+Critical Up) for 100% chance of critical hits! As such, Dexterity is not needed since Crits do not miss. This build allows you to AFK as your character runs map-to-map from 1 end to the other, earning experience and money quickly (with Pickpocket and Steal+Autocast combo skill). I tend to use this build to whenever I am watching movies or dramas hehe. A healing pet will combo well with this class! This build is not recommended for high level maps or bossing.

3. Level 90-160 build (High AoE DPS) – Hunter (Dual Bows)Hunters are one of the best DPS class in Linear Quest. Her damage is usually around the 10,000+ range due to the high critical chance of Critical Shot. Luck is not necessary with this skill. Hunters also have high maximum HP due to high Strength. The only weakness of Hunters is her low maximum MP. Hence, MP Regen buff and MP Pots is necessary. I did not use Flaming Arrow in this build as it does less damage, consume more MP and have lower critical chance compared to Critical Shot. I will recommend adding Vitality once you have maxed Dex and Str for the added HP. Monsters at Maps 240+ tend to 1-hit-KO if you do not have high max HP. Hunters are also viable for UFC bosses.

I had a fun time with this class. Clearing dungeons and bosses are very easy with Hunters. You can use an Exp. Boost Book (2 Gems each) to quickly level up too!

4. Level 140+ build (High AoE DPS & Survivability) – Priest (Dual Rods/Shields). At low level maps, Holy Ray is able to kill all monsters within 1-3 hits. For higher level maps and bosses, use Undeadify+Heal combo. This combo allows you to do AoE damage and Heals you at the same time! Your HP will always be full, providing good survivability. Banish Evil can be used to kill high HP monsters instantly. For an almost-instant casting speed, you will need to have around 250 Dexterity. This build is not recommended for low levels as you need high Dexterity for instant cast.
The only weakness of Priests is her low maximum HP. For priests to shine, you will need a high level character (Level 180+) with maxed Vitality. Alternatively, you can also equip 2 shields to boost your Def and MDef for survivability. Priest is one of the easiest class to beat Red Zone and clear the 100 floors in Employment Tower (with Undeadify+Heal combo). Note that this combo has been slightly nerfed as the duration of the Undeadify was reduced to 10s in the recent patch. This build is no longer the best for bossing. For UFC bosses, it is recommended to use Poison Mist for DPS and Heal to recover HP.

5. Level 124 build (High DPS & Tank) – Fighter (Dual Swords). Fighter is a great tank. You can easily obtain 6k+ HP (HP Boost) with insane damage due to the ignore defense effect of Cross Slash. Even at high level maps, you are able to do 11k damage (or 20k+ damage if crit) per hit. Use Critical Shot to cause Bleed effects before finishing the monsters with Cross Slash. The only weakness of Fighter is that she is unable to clear the map as fast as hunters/priest. Cross Slash can only target 1 close-range enemy at a time.

  1. Wondering if I'm correct to unlock dual wield requires max level of all weapon mastery?
